The inspiration for Drifter Spring 2010 revolved around old Americana photography. We searched photo archives for beautiful nature scenes and industrial city landscapes along with run-down carnival photos. We also captured the vintage feel in our newest fabric, a cotton poly jersey, available in several colors reminiscent of the Americana look. This lightweight blend is incomparably soft with a little bit of sheerness giving it a luxurious feel– perfect for this spring. Naturally occurring pilling in the fabric gives the shirts a great worn-in vintage Americana look and feel. Our colorway for the season blended muted vintage colors with bright contemporary colors to bring all the looks into 2010.

In the past several years, many clothing companies and fashion designers have spent their time trying to recreate old band shirts and flooding the market with pop culture graphic tees. To keep cost down and their businesses successful, many have moved overseas.
With Drifter Industries, we have, from the start, stuck to creating fresh graphics and kept our clothing American-made. As designers we know that working as locally as possible has influenced not only our graphic direction but our fit and silhouette as well.
Square One is born from the same concept as Drifter — well-made clothing influenced by vintage Americana but with a futuristic slant. Instead of using the shirt as a canvas for artwork, the mission is to develop styles that speak for themselves and use meticulous detailing as the heart of “future classic.”
