Drifter Fall 2009 Collection

So, the economy is struggling. Hey, even the fabulous fashion industry is struggling. (Actually, it’s pretty bad.) To reflect the hardships of the everything that going on in the world, I chose an abandon house located a few minutes from Downtown Los Angeles as the spot to shoot our Fall 09 collection. Even though for me the abandoned house was an iconic image of the economic and housing crisis, I wanted to do a “fun” photo shoot here. Our high-spirited model this time around was Joe Hursley from the great band The Ringers as well as those hilarious Got Milk “White Gold” commercials. One of the best photographers I know and the guy who has helmed all of our photo sessions since our last summer collection is Yoji Abe (y2-design). He did a great job capturing the energy of our model, Joe, along with the inimitable surroundings. By the way, fun fact: one of our fashion designer’s Jaya and her sister can be seen from the upstairs window while one of our graphic designer’s, Sean, playing the “mad scientist” can be seen wielding a chainsaw. It was great and possibly one of the funniest photo sessions ever.
